How metas form
A meta typically begins with one or a few breakout tokens in a particular category — animal memes, AI agents, political figures, internet celebrities. If those tokens generate significant returns, more capital flows into similar tokens. As attention concentrates, new tokens with similar themes launch to capture it. The meta persists until saturation (too many tokens, diluted attention) or until a competing narrative steals capital.
